MITIE wins Capgemini contract
14 Jul 09
MITIE has been selected to provide a £1.8m security services contract to Capgemini UK plc at its corporate offices and data centres.
Capgemini, one of the world’s foremost providers of consulting, technology and outsourcing services, has a total of 15 UK sites, including large offices and data centres. The new contract includes manned guarding services, reception, key holding and response and mobile patrols.
MITIE will also hold responsibility for the protection of Capgemini’s UK estate from entry of unauthorised persons. The contract was secured following a competitive tender process and MITIE was chosen based on its understanding of the key security risks for Capgemini.
The contract will see MITIE working with Capgemini to improve the integration of the various security elements.
Jeff Flanagan, managing director, MITIE, said: “We’re delighted to be working with Capgemini to support them in developing a more integrated approach to security across their estate in the UK.
“Our experience in the corporate sector and ability to provide an integrated security service has allowed us to work in partnership with Capgemini to ensure that its security processes and systems are supporting them in meeting their wider business objectives.
“From the outset we knew that Capgemini wanted an integrated approach to security and a provider that understands its key risks and business drivers.”
Rosa Willis, head of physical security at Capgemini UK said: “I am really impressed by the energy and professionalism MITIE has brought to the table. It has understood exactly what we wanted from manned guarding and also brought cost saving efficiencies which is great.
“By providing a dedicated contract manager, it has made the relationship much easier for us, and combined with its best practice recommendations, it has made a fantastic start.”
