G4S buys Hill & Associates consultancy
07 Dec 09
G4S has acquired Hill & Associates Consultants, Asia’s leading provider of specialist risk mitigation consulting services.
The company was acquired from Hill & Associates Group – a special purpose company majority owned by Navis Capital Partners together with founders and senior management of Hill & Associates – for a total gross cash consideration of US$8 million.
Hill & Associates boasted audited revenues of US$20 million in the twelve months to December 2008.
The Hill & Associates risk mitigation consulting business runs operations in 14 countries. The organisation employs approximately 200 staff with a wide variety of professional backgrounds to provide risk intelligence, enterprise risk management, corporate intelligence and fraud prevention and integrity risk services to over 1,000 clients every year.
The acquisition of Hill & Associates supports the G4S strategy of developing its capability to provide high-end risk consulting services to financial institutions, corporate multinationals and other customers, and represents an important step in building a global network of risk and security consulting businesses.
Unparalleled service offering
Ted Devereux, the president of G4S in the Asia Pacific region, commented: “The acquisition of Hill & Associates significantly increases our capabilities and customer offering in the region. I’m pleased to welcome all of Hill & Associates staff to G4S, and am looking forward to working with its founding partners Colin Hill and Richard Hickson who will be responsible for leading the development of G4S’s Asia Pacific risk consultancy operations.“
Hickson, the CEO of Hill & Associates, added: “The combination of Hill & Associates’ existing capabilities and G4S’ capacity and footprint will provide our clients with an unparalleled service offering encapsulating intelligence, assessment, advice, support and response.”
He added: “Colin and I are very excited by the significant opportunity to develop our business, and about the benefits this development will bring to our clients and our staff. We’re looking forward to working with Ted Devereux and the team at G4S to realise this vision.”
