Hikvision launches PSIA-compliant cameras

Leading Chinese manufacturer Hikvision Digital Technology is launching its range of PSIA-compliant network cameras at the ASIS exhibition currently taking place in California.
The initial products are the snappily-titled DS-2CD862MF-E 1.3-Megapixel CCD-based camera and DS-2CD852MF-E 2-Megapixel camera.
Hikvision president Yangzhong Hu said: “We are proud to release these products at ASIS this year. This is a very important time in our industry and we are determined to play an important role in it.”
Hikvision says the DS-2CD862MF-E 1.3-megapixel Network Camera “offers high-definition video quality with enhanced sensitivity in low-light scenarios using a 1/3-inch Sony progressive scan CCD.
“In addition, its advanced auto iris, as well as Wide Dynamic and Back Light Compensation technologies, enable the product to provide clear images in various lighting conditions.”
And apparently the DS-2CD852MF-E 2-megapixel Network Camera can deliver “exquisite real-time video” through its advanced DSP platform and MPEG4/H.264 video codec.
Hikvision plans to release a full range of IP cameras compliant with both PSIA and Onvif standards.
“As video surveillance heads towards IP, having industry standards-compliant products is definitely one of the major steps for us to provide a higher value in the booming IP surveillance market,” said Polo Cai, vice president of Hikvison
“In addition, with interoperability the market will be able to easily enjoy IP solutions that meet various requirements from diversified and critical security applications.”
Hu said: “Hikvision is determined to further cultivate security market with an eye to better serve our customers.
"The release of open industry standards-compliant products will definitely position Hikvision to serve current and future customers worldwide, as well as allow us to consolidate our leading position in video surveillance market.”
