Basler IP cameras integrated with Genetec solution
10 Mar 10
Basler Vision Technologies has integrated its IP cameras with a solution by Genetec Security Center.
Basler’s entire range of IP surveillance, which includes standard and day/night models with resolutions from VGA to two megapixels, will now be compatible with Genetec’s Omnicast technology.
According to Basler, Omnicast supports the complete range of the CCTV manufacturer's IP camera functionalities. This includes the Mjpeg, Mpeg-4, and H.264 compression formats, AOI functionality, and multicasting. Multicasting allows a single IP camera to simultaneously transmit images to multiple network devices while only using the bandwidth normally required to transmit to a single device.
Some of the other features supported include camera I/O ports as well as simultaneous streaming of multiple Mjpeg streams and an Mpeg-4 or H.264 stream.
Hardy Mehl, director of IP services at Basler, said: "With this cooperation, two companies have united to offer their customers a premium security solution."
