'Low cost' CCTV solution launched by ESP Electronics

ESP Electronics Line has launched a new camera solution designed to detect intruders, illuminate the area, give a vocal warning and record images.

The GuardCam can capture and store single images or 20-second video clips over-stamped with the time and date of the incident. The camera operates with a 230W C halogen lamp.

A spokesman from ESP said: “There is no doubt that the core requirement to establish the identity of perpetrators of crime exists. The security market however is famous for using a sledgehammer to crack a nut.

"A complex system with multiple cameras, a sophisticated recoding device and remote view capability will certainly do the job well, but very often requires the owner to be technically trained and have deep pockets. The GuardCam is designed to offer a relatively low cost yet simple solution.”
