TDSi leads the way on 21CN testing
13 Oct 09
Against a background of rapidly changing communications technology, TDSi has become the first BSIA Access Control Section member to successfully complete a programme of 21st Century Network (21CN) testing – the company’s access control equipment having been tested at British Telecom’s (BT’s) facilities in Swansea.
21CN is BT’s global network transformation project which will ultimately see the UK’s entire telephone network move to an Internet Protocol (IP)-based system, allowing the operator to deliver a broader range of services at reduced cost and improved quality.
TDSi has undertaken the programme of testing on 21CN between its integrated software suite EXgarde PRO, and remote access control units via modems to ensure continuity and consistency of communications on both the company’s new and legacy systems when operating on such modern networks.
Commenting on the programme, TDSi’s product manager Duncan Gooch said: “Our continuous development programme aims to deliver products and systems that are future-proof, deliver straightforward integration options with other proprietary systems and operate across a range of communications networks. We’re delighted that these tests have demonstrated that our systems operate effectively and reliably when transmitting across BT’s 21CN network, and without any loss of data”.
