IDL presented with Queens Award for Enterprise

17 Nov 09

Integrated Design Ltd has been awarded the prestigious Queen’s Award for Enterprise: International Trade in 2009.

Lord Bilimoria of Chelsea presented Margaret Lauder, IDL’s longest serving employee, with the award. He visited IDL’s new headquarters in Feltham at a reception for staff and suppliers, also attended by the Mayor of Hounslow, Councillor Paul Lynch.

The Queen's Awards for Enterprise are the UK's most prestigious awards for business performance. They recognise and reward outstanding achievement by UK companies.

The awards are made each year by The Queen, on the advice of the Prime Minister, who is assisted by an Advisory Committee that includes representatives of government, industry and commerce, and the trade unions.

Integrated Design, manufacturer of Fastlane entrance control solutions, has been awarded the International Trade category for demonstrating a substantial growth in export over a three year period.

This has been achieved by expanding its network of overseas distributors and partners to Korea, Russia, Australia and New Zealand, as well as building upon its existing dealer bases in North America, Japan, Middle East and Europe. Between April 2005 and April 2008 IDL had significantly increased worldwide revenue.

IDL managing director derek Huff said: “Winning the Queen’s Award for International Trade is a great honour that we gladly share with our hard working partners in North America, Japan, Middle East and Europe. The award recognises the team effort from our staff and suppliers that has earned Fastlane Entrance Control a place on an international stage.”

Alex Carmichael, BSIA technical director, said: "I congratulate IDL for their achievement in winning this award. The BSIA is extremely proud of the contribution its exporters make to promoting UK plc, building relationships overseas and acting as ambassadors for British industry around the world. This award is testament to that level of excellence."
