Loomis secures new UK contract with Sainsbury's
26 Oct 09
End-to-end cash management specialist Loomis has successfully secured a three-year contract to service the entire Sainsbury’s store estate in the UK.
The company won the contract against tough competition, with its competitive pricing and proven quality of service allowing the continuation and extension of its 15-year relationship with the retail giant. Having signed this new deal, Loomis will now service over 800 Sainsbury's stores across the UK.
Since winning its initial contract with Sainsbury’s all those years ago, Loomis has worked together with the supermarket chain to build an excellent relationship.
This latest contract extension will see Loomis provide the Sainsbury’s network of branches across the UK with secure cash management services. including Cash-in-Transit, coin delivery and ATM delivery.
As part of its ongoing relationship with Sainsbury’s, Loomis has developed a number of innovative products such as the docking station installed at Sainsbury’s London Colney store. This pioneering concept provides increased security, enabling higher amounts of cash to be collected or delivered on each occasion.
Loomis' proven ability to develop innovative solutions was a contributing factor in Sainsbury's decision to extend the existing contract, as Darren Clark - the retailer's assistant group treasurer - told SMT Online.
High security, significant cost savings
“We’re pleased to be continuing our relationship with Loomis. The company's quality of service is second to none. Colleague and customer safety is of paramount importance, and not only does Loomis ensure high standards of security, but the company has also been able to deliver significant cost savings. After 15 years, we’ve developed a solutions-driven working relationship which means that Loomis understands exactly what we need as a business.”
Tony Benson, UK risk director at Loomis, added: “The restructured pricing model we produced for Sainsbury’s has allowed us to provide a high quality range of security services as well as great cost reductions. We’re delighted that Sainsbury’s has chosen to continue its relationship with us and expand the use of our service. We look forward to being able to maintain an excellent quality service for its stores across the UK.”
The Cash-in-Transit service ensures the secure (and fully insured) transportation of Sainsbury’s cash takings, managed by highly trained officers, while the coin service provides the secure delivery of coins to Sainsbury’s stores across the UK.
Loomis also looks after the full life-cycle cash management of its ATM machines, including full maintenance, the provision of a HelpDesk service and parts supply. This fully comprehensive service, coupled with competitive pricing and innovative concepts, is at the heart of why Loomis managed to secure this new contract.
