I4S to host free HD and IP CCTV webinar

17 Apr 09

The free webinar, which looks at the latest advances in CCTV, will take place on Wednesday 6 May from 15:00 to 16:00 (GMT).

Produced in association with SMT Online and IFSEC, the world’s largest annual security event, and sponsored by Dedicated Micros, the webinar will consist of presentations, Q&A and real-time open discussion. Leading industry figures will be taking part in the discussion:

• Chairman: Brian Sims, Editor of SMT Online and Group Content Editor, UBM Live Security Portfolio

• Ian Cunningham, Principal Consultant (Directorate of Information), Metropolitan Police Service

• David Mann, Security Manager, University of Glamorgan

• Pauline Norstrom, Director of Worldwide Marketing, Dedicated Micros and Board Director, AD Group

• Ian Fowler, Senior Security Consultant, Happold Safe and Secure

The webinar will explore the rapid advance in the technologies used for megapixel CCTV and its specification, deployment and management in the real world. Pre-registered attendees will be able to submit questions and opinions to the panel via email which will be answered or debated live.

Education and assistance

Commenting on this event, Brian Sims explained: “The HD and IP webinar is the first in a special series we’ll be running in conjunction with industry partners, and very much part of the ‘new age’ of security publishing. One of the key remits for SMT has always been to educate and assist its audience with key content, and this inaugural webinar very much fits in with that ethic.

“This is a groundbreaking moment for the sector, in that it’s the first webinar to be run in this industry by the established media outlets. We’re very proud of that fact, and also extremely proud of the calibre of people we have speaking on the day.

“I would urge end users, consultants and installers alike to sign up for the online session, and to pose as many hard-hitting questions as they can about two areas of systems development that are really beginning to shape the security landscape.

“The whole idea of the webinar is that it’s interactive. We’ll be asking and answering queries in real-time, debunking some myths and giving our readers the real story behind the headlines.”

CCTV is one of the six product areas at the IFSEC 2009 exhibition, and many of the industry’s leading CCTV manufacturers will be showcasing their latest innovations at the show. This webinar will introduce many of the technologies and products on show at IFSEC 2009.
