Registration opens for IFSEC 2010

31 Jan 10

UBM Live’s Venues, Protection and Leisure Portfolio – the organiser of IFSEC – has announced that registrations are now open for the 2010 event. Brian Sims reports.

IFSEC, of course, is the world’s premier security exhibition and conference programme, drawing visitors from across the globe. Many companies use the event to launch and highlight their latest security solutions, as well as entertain and inform current and prospective clients.

The 2010 event will carry on that fine tradition. There’ll be well over 600 companies in attendance this year, with security giant Norbain returning to the fold after spending the latter portion of 2009 and the early part of this year investing in product development and website upgrades.

Major product areas in situ

As always, the major product areas – CCTV, access control, intruder alarms, IP and networked systems and physical security solutions – will be in evidence, alongside counter-terrorism advice and information, fire solutions and security information and solutions aimed squarely at end users.

Continuing the end user theme, once again SMT SELECT will have its own lounge at the NEC’s exhibition halls where security managers and directors can discuss business with their suppliers, watch CNN and BBC News on the plasma screens, enjoy light refreshments and take the weight off their feet.

Very soon, the IFSEC Conference Programme will be open for bookings. Register now to be the first to know and book onto sessions that will cover areas including counter-terror strategies, preparing for the 2012 Olympic Games and the most up-to-date corporate security issues.

Typical attendees here include managers and directors, CCTV specialists, technical services managers, security trainers, risk managers, security advisors and heads of facilities, all of them from across the private and public sectors.

Organisations already confirmed to attend include the Bank of America, DHL, The Body Shop and Gamestec Leisure.

The Intelligent Integration Zone

Meanwhile, the Intelligent Integration Zone – sponsored this year by ISM – enables visitors to explore the real possibilities of active integration and the compelling benefits to be had from ‘grasping the nettle’ when it comes to embracing new security technologies. More details to follow soon.

Visitors will also have access to free seminars, international pavilions, the Apprentice Skills Challenge and the co-located Safety & Health Expo and The Facilities Show.

Of course, IFSEC wouldn’t be IFSEC without the Security Industry Awards, which take place on the evening of Monday 10 May at The Birmingham Metropole Hotel. Once again, the evening will be a celebration of the best innovation and technology within the industry. It’s an event that really cements the fact IFSEC 2010 is THE place to be for all security professionals.
