Songs about security: Who Are You?
02 Jan 09
Welcome to the first edition of Songs About Security for 2009 – we’re using one of those CSI theme tunes…
That’s right, this week’s song is ‘Who Are You’ by quite well known band The Who. It was suggested by Ron Alalouff, who just happens to be the editor of Fire Safety Engineering magazine, THE only magazine worth bothering with in its particular field, I am reliably informed.
‘Who Are You’ is the title track of the Who’s 1978 album of the same name – the last one released before the death of drummer Keith Moon.
Ron says he suggested it because it could conceivably be about identity, and biometrics, and ID cards, and the sort of things security officers may ask you before allowing you to enter a venue or restricted area. That seems pretty reasonable, particularly given the fairly marginal, tendentious reasons I normally provide for my choices.
Enjoy the tune, and remember to suggest anything you think would make a suitable Song About Security.
