SCS Security Design opens new Aberdeen office

03 Jun 09

A surge in demand from businesses for CCTV and access systems has resulted in SCS Security Design opening a new office in Aberdeen.

The Perth based security and mobile radio system specialist hopes the new office will provide a platform for business expansion in the north-east of Scotland.

Despite the economic downturn, SCS Security Design – part of the Scottish Communications Group – says it has experienced buoyant demand for CCTV and access systems over the last year.

The company’s own market research indicates “that there is good potential for new growth in the north-east of Scotland, given the current strength of the oil sector”.

Spearheading this sales drive in the north-east will be Millar Kennedy, who has just been appointed by SCS Security Design as business development manager.

Millar, who will be based at the new office in the city's Commerce Street, is an experienced security system specialist with over 30 years working in the sector in the north-east.

Brian Davidson, SCS Security Design general manager, said: "We believe that this new office, which is being supported by the appointment of such a well known and respected figure as Millar Kennedy, will prove crucial in our ongoing plans to develop the business.

"Developments in security systems have become increasingly innovative in recent years and we are confident that there will be strong demand from local businesses seeking to use cutting-edge technology to help protect their premises and enhance safety."

Millar said: "I am delighted at taking on this new challenge, and although my initial focus will be on Aberdeen and the north-east, the plan is that the new office will be the base for expansion throughout the north of Scotland."

SCS Security Design already has a well-established customer base in the Aberdeen area, serving such customers as Aberdeen Harbour, Streamline Shipping and John Clark Motor Group.

Established in 1979, SCS Security Design supplies CCTV, access control, intruder alarm and other specialist systems for businesses, local authorities and other organisations.
