Bosch claims 'first' in advanced level imaging

Bosch Security Systems has introduced the FlexiDome 2X day/night dome camera and the Dinion 2X day/night fixed camera to provide customers with an advanced level of imaging for their surveillance applications.

The new cameras’ innovative 2X digital signal processor (DSP) supplies twice the processing power of conventional cameras. In addition, the 2X-Dynamic technology and wide dynamic range sensors analyse images pixel-by-pixel to produce the most detailed view of scenes with difficult lighting.

Bosch states that this "unique combination" enables the cameras to reveal more than is visible with the human eye alone.

Joining 2X DSP with the wide dynamic range sensor results in cameras with 20-bit image processing, said to be a first in the CCTV industry. Producing a 50% improvement in detail reproduction and 30% better image quality, this advanced technology affords customers crisp, clear surveillance video even in harshly lit or dark environments.

Designed for ease of installation and use

The cameras also feature smart backlight compensation to optimise light levels for objects of interest in scenes with a bright background. This feature automatically analyses images and enhances details to provide the best result without the need for user intervention. The cameras’ day/night capability with infrared contrast also enables effective round-the-clock surveillance.

Several tools built into the cameras reduce installation times for technicians. A test pattern generator produces signals to check cables and other CCTV equipment, and Bilinx allows installers to verify camera status, change settings and update firmware from a laptop computer.

A host of other features, including six user-programmable modules, a multi-language on-screen display, built-in smart motion detection and privacy zones ensure simple set up and operation of the cameras. A high efficiency power supply also improves the operating temperature of the cameras and increases their lifetime to protect customers’ investments.

Plethora of applications possible

The FlexiDome 2X and Dinion 2X cameras are well suited for a wide variety of applications, including outdoor perimeters, traffic monitoring, correctional facilities, parking lots and garages, casinos and gaming centres.

The cameras are also ideal for applications that involve difficult lighting, day/night surveillance or where the most detailed images are required.
