Monitor any space from a single camera
23 Nov 09
High definition specialist Avigilon is launching a new panoramic high definition dome camera to cover ultra-wide angle scenes including lobbies, offices, and tight spaces.
With High Definition Stream Management, the dome is “competitively priced and easy to install”, says the company.
A compact, multi-sensor camera with conventional lenses, the Panoramic HD Dome Camera uses four 2MP sensors to achieve either 180 deg or 360 deg coverage.
With the 180 deg version, each lens covers a 45-degree field of view, while each lens in the 360 deg version covers a 90-degree field of view.
The cameras “capture images without distortion and deliver the detail required to make positive identifications across the entire scene – in even the tightest space,” said Dave Tynan, vice president of global sales and marketing.
Cameras use one network cable for power and to transmit video from all four 2MP sensors, making them “cost-effective”, says the Vancouver-based company.
HD domes also offer Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) to reduce installation costs and alarm input and outputs to integrate into alarm systems.
Mounting options are recessed in-ceiling or mounting to an electrical box.
The products will be available commercially in the first quarter of 2010.
