Big idea wanted to reduce retail crime
23 Nov 09
Do you have a great idea that could help reduce retail crime?
The Co-operative Group is issuing a challenge to the security industry to come up with a “Big Idea” that could help reduce business loss through retail crime and cut costs by improving business processes.
Suppliers and manufacturers are invited to submit designs, products or business services to a panel of judges, comprised of Co-operative senior management, who are looking for ideas that are new and innovative, and would make a real difference.
The Co-operative Group’s food retail loss prevention manager Richard Quinn said: “The Co-operative’s priority is protecting its people and its businesses so we have decided to issue a unique challenge to the industry to come up with ideas that would make a real difference when implemented to our business, product or service.
“The winners will have an opportunity to be part of our success and help make our businesses a safer place for our colleagues.”
Entries can be submitted to the judges at www.co-operative.coop/thebigidea (click on link in right hand panel) and a shortlist will then be drawn up.
Those selected will be asked to give a presentation on their idea, with the winners being announced at a special charity fund-raising event on January 28 2010.
More information on the unique event can be obtained by emailing thebigidea@co-operative.coop or by visiting the website (click on link in right hand panel).
