Sony encoders integrated with Norbain technology
10 Mar 10
Sony's new range of SNT-EX/EP Series video encoders is now available through Norbain.
The integration includes Sony 1CH/4CH box types, 4CH blade configurations, and 16CH/48CH 1U/3U rack stations.
SNT-EX/EP Series encoders are all ONVIF compliant, plus, they can all dual-stream jpeg/H.264, mpeg-4/H.264, or mpeg-4/jpeg video at full 30/25 fps and up to D1 resolution, according to Norbain.
A spokesman from Norbain said: “With intelligent motion detection on the 1CH/4CH box, and full-function 4CH blade models, the new encoder range makes it possible for legacy analogue camera systems to access the image improvements associated with IP technology. Using Sony's latest image enhancing VE and XDNR technology, the picture quality of the original analogue camera signals is improved, while converting them to a digital video stream for IP-based networks.”
The encoders also use Sony’s visibility enhancer technology, which works to reduce extreme levels of brightness in a particular location, as well as increasing light levels in darker areas.
Norbain’s Paul Jones, who works on business development with Sony, said: “Increased image noise levels resulting from signal amplification and image ghosting caused by slow shutter speeds when recording CCTV footage in low light environments using 2DNR and 3DNR signal processing methods.
"The high-performance SNT-EX/EP series encoder offering is completed by Sony's advanced intelligent video and audio analytics. This delivers greater intelligence to analogue cameras, while offering other features such as improved security. Combined with ONVIF compliance, the Sony encoders offer users flexibility and superior image quality."
