Pelco's new DX4500/DX4600 Series DVRs are fully-featured, entry-level models that can provide a scalable solution for anything from stand-alone to fully-networked installations.
Available with 8 or 16-channels, the DX4500 features 250 GB up to 3 Tb storage capacity and up to 240 IPS recording rate, while the DX4600 features 250 GB-6 Tb storage capacity and up to 480 IPS recording rate.
Both models support fast frame rate recording, efficient playback, search and export capability. Providing system flexibility, their live images and video playback can be viewed and controlled across LANs or WANs using supplied remote client software.
Recording at resolutions of up to 704 x 480 (4CIF), the DX4500/DX4600 units are said to "capture crystal clear pictures". Each DVR input channel can be configured individually to meet specific camera scene requirements for video retention, in respect of resolution, quality and IPS via end user-configurable disk partitioning.
In addition, retention times can be different for retaining continuous recorded video and event-initiated recorded video.
Video required for investigations
Video required for investigatory purposes may be exported to a USB memory stick or optional CD-RW / DVD±RW device. Operation of the DVRs is made easy through their front panel, via the remote control device or a mouse. For surveillance applications requiring PTZ capability, the DX4500/DX4600 address and control PTZ equipment such as Spectra domes and mini domes or third-party cameras.
An optional KBD300A keyboard operates Pelco and third-party PTZ cameras that support Pelco C (Coaxitron), Pelco D or Pelco P protocols.
"The DX4500/DX4600 DVRs provide a robust set of features for small to multiple-site applications," explained Buzz Coates, Norbain's branded CCTV manager. "From the incorporation of watermarking technology to prevent alterations to captured video, through to their ability to capture log entries, the DX4500/DX4600 models embody the ideal entry-level DVR to protect people and assets."
