Payment protection suite finds early buyers

29 Sep 07

A new payment protection suite from compliance management firm ArcSight has been adopted by several major companies, including one of America’s largest low-cost airlines.

ArcSight announced the impressive customer list as it launched its PCI Protection Suite, which aims to keep organisations safe from data breaches, insider threats and non-compliance risks.

By monitoring a company’s compliance with payment card industry (PCI) data security standards, the protection suite should be able to protect sensitive cardholder data from fraudsters and identity thieves. ArcSight and its customers think this will boost customers’ confidence when paying for goods and services by card.

To meet all 12 PCI requirements (as set out by the world’s major credit card companies) the protection suite offers:

• Real-time monitoring and early-warning breach detection across all users, applications, databases and other PCI-impacted IT infrastructure

• Automatic and continuous capture, storage and analysis of all events across distributed locations

“Our customers place a high degree of trust in us to ensure that their credit card information is protected to the utmost level.”

Michelle Stewart, manager of data security at AirTran Airways.

• Efficient compliance-posture validation and visibility

As well as budget carrier AirTran Airways, office equipment provider OfficeMax and cruise line Princess Cruises have signed up for the suite.

"AirTran Airways operates over 700 flights daily to over 55 destinations, and passengers primarily use major credit cards to purchase tickets," said Michelle Stewart, manager of data security at AirTran Airways.

"Our customers place a high degree of trust in us to ensure that their credit card information is protected to the utmost level. We have been proactive with this objective and have selected ArcSight's PCI solution toolset to provide the most reliable protection available today."

The PCI Protection Suite is available in a variety of configuration and pricing packages, starting at US $20,000. To find out more, visit the ArcSight website.
