'Space age' TurtleSkin products for guarding brought to UK

Security product specialist Interconnective Ltd has announced a distribution deal for TurtleSkin gloves and armguards to serve the UK market.

The patented, flexible TurtleSkin fabric has been used by NASA for Shuttle space missions. Woven from aramid fibre in “the tightest-ever weave achieved”, the puncture and cut-resistant fabric effectively prevents the finest of penetration implements (such as a syringe) from passing through, thus helping to safeguard security personnel.

Commenting on the product, Interconnective’s Bobby Logue (also the Editor of popular security guarding e-zine and web site Infologue.com) told info4security.com: “We’ve recently been asked by our extensive customer base to extend our body protection range such that it includes needle stick-resistant gloves and armguards. After examining all of the relevant products in the needle stick market, we decided that TurtleSkin represents the ‘best fit’ with our Cuirazz range of body protection systems. It boasts a high level of protection but there’s no sacrifices made in terms of dexterity.”

Interconnective is a UK-based, BS EN ISO 9001:2000 accredited company supplying both security and policing products, with similar group operations in both South Africa and the Peoples’ Republic of China.
