Symantec unifies security management across enterprise

19 Apr 10

Symantec protection suites to unify information security management and ‘Defense in Depth’ protection across endpoints, gateway and servers infrastructure.

Symantec Corp will unify information security management across endpoints, gateways and servers, and deliver targeted protection for the enterprise with the release of new Symantec protection suites. The new protection suite solutions, scheduled to be available during the summer of 2010, are expected to alleviate challenges of security administrators and bring in simplicity and in-depth protection across the enterprise infrastructure.

The foundation of each of the new protection suites will be Symantec protection center, a single sign-on Web console that provides administrators full access to configuration management, report generation and dashboard views of the multiple Symantec protection technologies relevant to each suite. Symantec protection center will simplify security information management with consolidated access to threat, security and operational dashboards and reporting.

With real-time access to the Symantec Global Intelligence Network, operations teams will benefit from single console access to Symantec’s global security threat database and market-leading endpoint, server, gateway and data loss prevention solutions.

“The new Symantec Protection Suites are a perfect fit for enterprise customers needing to effectively protect their infrastructures and information,” said Wade Wyant, president at ITS Partners. "Protection Center's consolidated access to security infrastructure management and reporting, along with the drag and drop workflow capabilities, will allow our clients to tightly integrate the solution into their environments."

“Symantec's new enterprise suites for Endpoints, Gateway and Servers will offer in-depth protection tailored to these specific areas of the IT infrastructure,” said Vishal Dhupar, MD, at Symantec.

“This approach to protection suites will enable customers to realize the full value of the protection capabilities offered in each suite, make it easier for them to solve the IT security challenges that most frequently impact their businesses, and simplify the selection and purchasing of solutions by aligning them with the way enterprises organize and manage their IT infrastructure and teams,” he added.
